The activities we undertake during the field school are broad and varied. Field school staff discuss research priorities with community members leading up to the field school and these priorities tend to change year-to-year. In previous years, we have worked closely with Traditional Owners to record a number of rock art sites in the region; the local cemetery; modern material culture, including the spread of fencing and ubiquity of ‘rubbish’; and we have also taken part in crafting didgeridoos and bead necklaces.

The priorities for 2023 are community health and wellbeing, graveyard recording, rock art recording and modern material culture. These projects are linked both to the community’s needs and the research areas of field school staff.
